Steve Harrison
Bassist for Los Angeles Thrash Metal Legends Hirax was born in Bellflower, CA January 18, 1972. He started playing music at the age of 9 on an acoustic guitar and jammed with his older brother who played lead guitar. It was always hard to find a good bass player, so Steve switched to bass by the time he was 12. Influenced by bassists such as, Steve Harris, Cliff Burton, Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, and many others, Steve was determined to play more of a lead style bass.

Steve’s been playing in various bands throughout Los Angeles and San Diego since he started playing. He joined Hirax in 2005 and has since traveled the world. Although, Steve is not the original bassist for Hirax he can be heard on the last 3 studio albums Assassins of War, Chaos and Brutality, and the latest El Rostro De La Muerte. Hirax is preparing for a World tour starting in April that will take them through Ecuador, Peru, Spain, Argentina, Venezuela, Japan and Germany.
When Steve needed the maximum power in bass amplification he reached out to SWR. “I’ve played every type of bass amp out there. I’ve almost blown every one as well. My new SM-1500 and 4 Goliath cabs give me the most power and clarity at loud volumes. I play with my fingers, so I need an amp that can cut. The EQ section on this amp has a lot of options for fine-tuning.
"I’ve rattled brains and crushed skulls with this loud rig”
